TERMS OF SERVICE

Welcome to AskCSV. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AskCSV website and app at https://www.askcsv.com (the "Services"), operated by AskCSV ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. THE SERVICE

AskCSV helps you analyze CSV and TSV data using natural-language questions. The AI model and DuckDB analysis run inside your browser on your device. Your files, pasted data, questions, generated SQL, query results, charts, and conversations are not uploaded to AskCSV servers. Saved datasets and conversations may remain in your browser storage until you delete them.

The Services require network access to load the website, app assets, and on-device AI model. Optional analytics, advertising, Google sign-in, and Stripe billing also use third-party network services as described in our Privacy Policy.

2. FREE AND PRO

Free. You may use Free without an account. Free currently includes up to 10 successful analyses per local calendar month, single-file analysis, local browser storage, print, and dark mode. The monthly allowance resets at the start of each local calendar month. Free limits and features may change as the Services evolve.

What counts as a successful analysis. An analysis counts when AskCSV completes the analysis flow and produces a data result. A failed attempt, an attempt stopped before a result, or a non-analysis conversation does not count toward the Free monthly limit.

Pro. Pro is an optional recurring subscription currently offered for USD $5 per month, with the final price and billing interval shown again in Stripe Checkout. Pro currently includes unlimited successful analyses, conversation ZIP and chart PNG exports, deterministic two-file join or stack, and no ads. Export files are generated in your browser. Pro uses the same on-device analysis path as Free; subscribing does not upload or sync your analysis content.

"Unlimited" is subject to these Terms, technical availability, and reasonable measures needed to prevent abuse or disruption of the Services.

3. ACCOUNTS, BILLING, AND CANCELLATION

Free analysis does not require registration. Google sign-in is required to purchase, access, or manage Pro. You are responsible for maintaining access to your sign-in account and for activity performed through your AskCSV account.

Stripe processes payment methods, recurring charges, Checkout, and subscription management. By starting Pro, you authorize Stripe to charge the price and billing interval displayed at Checkout. Pro renews automatically until canceled.

You can manage or cancel Pro through the Stripe Customer Portal available from the AskCSV account menu. Unless otherwise required by applicable law or stated during Checkout, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Canceling Pro does not delete files or conversations stored in your browser, and deleting local browser data does not cancel Pro.

If a payment fails, is disputed, or cannot be verified, Pro access may be delayed, suspended, or ended. Contact help@askcsv.com for billing support.

4. YOUR DATA AND PRIVACY

You are responsible for the data you choose to analyze and for ensuring you have the right to use it. Your analysis content remains on your device, but account, billing, hosting, optional analytics, and optional advertising data are handled separately as described in our Privacy Policy.

Browser storage is controlled by your browser and device. Clearing browser data, using private browsing, changing browser profiles, or device or browser failures may remove saved work. You are responsible for keeping any source files or exports you need.

5. ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree to use the Services lawfully and not to:

• attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Services or their underlying systems;
• bypass usage, subscription, security, or access controls;
• reverse engineer, scrape, or misuse the Services in a way that harms us or other users;
• use the Services to process data you are not permitted to process, or in violation of any applicable law or third-party rights; or
• use automated or abusive activity that materially interferes with availability for others.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Services, including their design, code, and content (excluding your data and third-party components), are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable laws. The on-device AI model and other open-source components are subject to their own licenses. Your data remains yours — we claim no ownership over the files you analyze.

7. ADVERTISING AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Free surfaces may display advertising after the required privacy choice. The Services may also use Google OAuth, Stripe, Google Analytics, hosting, database, content-delivery, and security providers. These third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control. See our Privacy Policy for details and choices.

8. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. AI-GENERATED ANALYSIS MAY BE INACCURATE OR INCOMPLETE; YOU SHOULD INDEPENDENTLY VERIFY ANY RESULTS BEFORE RELYING ON THEM. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED USD $2.00.

10. CHANGES TO THE SERVICES AND TERMS

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Services, plans, prices, or limits from time to time. We may also update these Terms; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Where required, we will provide notice before changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved by a court of competent jurisdiction.
