Analyze Financial CSV Data Locally in Your Browser
Learn how to analyze financial CSV data locally without sending it to AskCSV or a cloud AI provider. Free to start, with no sign-up required.

Ask questions about a financial CSV while its rows and analysis content stay inside the browser on your device.
Finance and accounting data is some of the most sensitive information a business handles. Revenue by customer, payroll runs, bank exports, unpaid invoices, and transaction ledgers may all require careful access and transfer controls. AskCSV lets you analyze financial CSV data locally by keeping the file on your own device and asking questions in plain English without sending the analysis content to AskCSV or a cloud AI provider.
What keeping financial analysis local changes
Many spreadsheet and analysis tools upload a file to their servers for processing and may retain it according to their policies. A general ledger export or payroll CSV can require additional review under contracts, internal policy, or regulation before it is transferred to another provider.
AskCSV takes the opposite approach. It runs the entire analysis inside your browser, on your device. Your CSV is read locally, the AI figures out what you're asking, and the results appear on screen. The file is never uploaded to AskCSV; if you save the work, it remains in this browser until you delete it. No account is needed for Free analysis. The goal is to reduce financial-data transfer risk by keeping the analysis local.
What you can actually do with it
Once your file is loaded, you can ask the kinds of questions you'd normally build a pivot table or formula for — just in ordinary language:
- "What was total revenue by month, and which month grew fastest?"
- "Show me the top 10 customers by outstanding balance."
- "Flag any transactions above $10,000 in the last quarter."
- "What's our average days-to-payment per client?"
- "Compare this year's expenses by category against last year."
Because it understands your columns, you don't need to know SQL, write formulas, or clean up headers first. You ask, it answers — often with a chart you can read at a glance.
How to analyze your financial CSV locally
- Open the app. Head to the AskCSV homepage at /. There's nothing to install and no sign-up for Free analysis.
- Drop in your CSV. Drag your financial or accounting export onto the page, or paste the data directly. It loads into your browser and is not sent to AskCSV or a cloud AI provider.
- Prepare the model if needed. The first analysis may download about 1.8 GB; supported browsers can cache it for later use.
- Ask your question in plain English. Type what you want to know, exactly as you'd ask a colleague.
- Read the answer. You'll get numbers, tables, and charts generated locally on your device.
- Keep going or return later. Ask follow-up questions to dig deeper. Saved work stays in this browser until you delete it, and AskCSV keeps no server-side analysis copy.
What local processing does and does not change
Working this way removes the cloud analysis copy from your review. You should still evaluate the website, browser, device, and any optional account or analytics services against your own security requirements. Whether you're reconciling a bank statement, preparing numbers for a board deck, or spot-checking an invoice list, the financial CSV itself stays on your device.
It also removes the cloud analysis upload from the first-pass workflow. Free analysis has no login screen, but your organization may still require security, procurement, or compliance review before you use any website or browser tool with financial data.
Try it with your own file
If you've been holding back on analyzing sensitive financial data because you didn't want it leaving your laptop, this is built for that local-first workflow. Open AskCSV at /, try a non-sensitive sample or a file you are authorized to use, and decide whether the on-device approach fits your requirements. Free analysis needs no sign-up.
