Free CSV AI Analysis: How the Free Credits Work
Analyze a CSV with AI for free — $0.25 of credits to try it without an account. See what the free credits cover and how the $5/month subscription with included usage works.

You can analyze a CSV with AI right now — no account, no credit card, nothing to install. Open a file, ask a question, and read the answer and chart.
Spreadsheets are everywhere, but getting real answers out of them usually means wrestling with formulas, pivot tables, or waiting on a data team. What if you could just ask? "Which region had the highest sales last quarter?" "Show me the top 10 customers by revenue." "What's the monthly trend?" That is what AskCSV does, and the free credits are genuinely usable without signing up for anything.
Why "analyze CSV with AI free" usually comes with strings attached
Search for a free CSV analysis tool and read the fine print. Many ask you to create an account before the first answer, start a "free trial" that expires, or meter you so tightly that nothing real gets done. Free tiers are often a demo rather than a tool.
AskCSV's free credits are limited but complete: no install, no model download, no wait before your first question. Guests get $0.25 of credits (about 5 answers). Sign in with Google to subscribe; your file stays in this browser either way. Credits pay only for the tokens the AI reads and writes, and a typical answer costs about $0.05.
How it works
- Open the app. Go to / — no sign-up screen, no wall.
- Open a CSV or Excel file, or paste delimited data. It is read in this browser and kept here for your account or guest session; the file is not uploaded.
- Ask a question in plain English. Type something like "average order value by month" or "count of sign-ups per country." No SQL, no formulas.
- Get an answer and a chart. The AI writes a read-only SQL query; the browser runs it over the whole file, totals and trends are computed from the result, and the SQL is shown so you can check it.
- Keep asking. Follow-up questions refine the same analysis — narrow by date, change the grouping, or ask for a different chart.
The free credits are $0.25 as a guest. When you want more, a $5/month subscription includes $5 of usage every month (about 100 answers), and you can add credits from $10 (about 200 answers).
What you can actually ask
The tool works with the columns in your file. A few examples:
- Sales & revenue: "Total revenue by product category," "which month grew the fastest?"
- Marketing: "Conversion rate by channel," "top 5 campaigns by click-through."
- Operations: "Average delivery time per warehouse," "orders with missing data."
- Customers: "How many repeat buyers do we have?" "Segment customers by spend."
You do not need to know how your data is structured. Describe what you want in everyday language and check the SQL behind the chart.
What the free credits are honest about
Each AI answer has a real cost per question, which is why usage is metered in credits rather than unlimited. There are no ads. In exchange, three things are true without qualification:
- The arithmetic is not a guess. Totals, shares, and trends are computed in code from the query result, and the generated SQL is on screen for every chart.
- What the AI sees is kept to a minimum. It gets only your question, the file's name and row count, the columns you chose to share with up to 10 sample rows, up to 100 rows of each query result plus summary figures, and the earlier messages in the chat — never the file itself.
- Deletion is available. Files and chats stay in this browser until you delete them or clear the site's data, and guest credits expire 7 days after they are issued. You can delete any file or chat at any time.
The bottom line
You should be able to ask your data a simple question without a sales call. AskCSV gives you free credits to find out whether it helps, and after that you pay only for the answers you ask for.
Ready to try it? Head to the AskCSV homepage, open a CSV, and ask your first question. The answer arrives with the SQL that produced it.
